My Autobiography

My name is Yuliana Wijaya. I am the youngest in my family. I have one sister and one brother. I was born at Tanjung Pura on 27th August 1989. When I was 11 months, my parents took me to Jakarta by ship. At the same time, I just began learn to crawl and almost got accident because I crawl to one hole. But, luckily, before I fell to that hole, my brother saved me. Then I grew up at Jakarta until now. In 2000, my father had passed away. It happened when I was 10 years old and still in elementary school grade 5. After losing my father, there was a time where my family have a hard time struggling to live, especially my mother. She should work alone and earn moneys. First is to feed three of her child. Second is to pay our school fees. At that time, me and my siblings still study in school and we still can’t stand alone to earn moneys. However the life was hard at that time, we could pass it.

Then, since the fourth until the sixth elementary school, I got first rank in the class. Similarly it happened for three years in my junior high school. There is a new sport I learned to play in junior high school. It is volleyball which often played when sport subject so I began like playing volleyball. Me and my friends also ever joined the volleyball competition between schools. We ever got third rank on the competition. Beside sport, I also like Mathematic subject. I ever got 100 points for my final national exam in third elementary school. When I heard that information from my teacher, I felt surprised and happy for the achievement I got. As a result, at the farewell event of my elementary school, my Mathematic teacher called Mr. Jumari gave me a gift, a enough expensive ink pen. He also write a little note for me that I still keep it until now and sometimes I reread it again. Then I continued my study to high school which is different from my kindergarten, elementary and junior high school (Amitayus). I moved to a new school called Pusaka Abadi High School. I got many new friends rather than before. Unlike in elementary school, I never got first rank again because the competition is very hard. In high school, beside study, my activity also taught private courses. I do this because I ever dreamed to be a teacher when I was a child. Beside it, my purpose also to earn moneys for paying my rent room, my school fees, and daily needs. In contrast, I changed my belief when I was in the second grade of high school. I believed Jesus and decided to follow Him. It was an unforgettable moment in my life. I really give thanks to God for His amazing grace to a sinner like me. Finally, I decided to be a Christian since on 23rd December 2005.

When my friends busy to find a university to continue their education, conversely I ever thought to stop my study to university. The reason is because I saw it is impossible for my family to fund my education at that time. But, because of the recommendation of my high school teacher, I tried to continue my study in university. I took the test at Pelita Harapan University (UPH) and got some interviews by campus. As a result, I was accepted and got scholarship. Consequently, I have a contract between me and campus as a result of the scholarship that given to me. Thus, now I study in UPH and take Hotel Management major batch 2007. Now, it is my last year at university. Therefore, I still try to find the topic for my final project at eight semester in 2011.

However, everybody has hopes. I also have several hopes in my future. First, I hope can work well for 2 years as my thanksgiving for the scholarship I already got. Second, I want to find a job where I can give my contribution according to the skill and ability that I have. Third, I dream may travel around Indonesia. Fourth, I dream may become a good writer and be a blessing through my writing. Last but not least, I ever promised to myself if I have more moneys, I want to help people who need support in education fee and getting foods. I hope my dreams will be come true.
